Position Details
We are looking to employ a Full Time Primary teacher on a fixed term contract from January 1 – December 31, 2027. There is the possibility of ongoing employment in 2028.
St Joseph’s School is a Catholic co-educational primary school founded in 1913 and originally staffed by the Sisters of St Joseph. Now staffed by all lay teachers the school caters for approximately 165 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and has a close relationship with St John the Baptist Parish. St Joseph’s School continues to strive for the ideals of Blessed Mary MacKillop in its service to country children and families. St Joseph’s is also following the Make Jesus Real Model.
Moora is an inland town located approximately 170 km north from Perth midway between the Great Northern Highway and the Brand Hwy. The town has all the amenities that one would need, including two supermarkets, cafes, banks and a number of specialty stores. Moora is a vibrant town with a strong sporting culture.
Selection Criteria
Applications are invited from those who possess the appropriate qualifications and who demonstrate the following attributes:
• Being fully supportive of the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education.
• Experience in Upper Primary is desirable but not compulsory.
• Dynamic, exemplary, enthusiastic educator who works well with their peers to plan for and implement teaching programs that improve student learning through effective teaching.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise and communicate effectively to reach all members of the community.
• Excellent behaviour engagement that creates a safe and supportive environment for all students.
• Builds positive relationships with students and their families.
• A strong commitment to team work, with a commitment to continual learning and improvement.
• Have a proven capacity to work independently and effectively.
• Resilient, flexible, highly adaptable and organised.
• Prepared to be involved in school activities, take on extra roles and be involved in extra-curricular activities.
Qualifications Required
• Relevant 4 Year tertiary qualification.
• Relevant Accreditation to Teach Religious Education (or working towards).
