Carpenter

• Measure, cut, and install wooden flooring and related timber structures.
• Interpret plans, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
• Construct, install, and repair floor frameworks, subfloors, stairs, skirting, and trims.
• Operate and maintain hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
• Collaborate with other trades and contractors on-site as needed.

Essential Criteria (as per Subclass 482 Visa – Core Skills Stream)

• At least 2 years of full-time relevant work experience as a Carpenter within the last 5 years.
• Hold a relevant AQF Certificate III (or equivalent international qualification) including at least two years of on-the-job training, or a minimum of three years of relevant experience if no formal qualification.
• Meet the English language requirement unless exempt.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and follow instructions and plans.
• Strong understanding of Australian building and safety codes.

Desirable Attributes

• Prior experience in the flooring industry.
• Manual Driver’s Licence.
• Positive attitude, punctuality, and a willingness to learn new techniques.
