About the role 

The Heads of Sport | Cricket is responsible for organising and administering the cricket sports program at all levels on the Corio campus (from Year 7 to Year 12).  

This role leads all aspects of the cricket program across the full year, from pre‑season planning and coach coordination to in‑season operations, communication, compliance, and end‑of‑season review. The role blends administration, program management, coach development, season planning, and communication leadership.

What you will be doing

•  Pre‑season coordination - Recruit and allocate coaches, organise venues and officials, prepare training schedules, manage equipment, oversee training programs, plan camps, fixtures, and annual dates.
• In‑season operations - Ensure training coverage, support coaches, manage attendance, uphold uniform and OHS standards, oversee budget and payments, coordinate refreshments, organise competitions and practice games, liaise with support groups, and manage match reporting.
• Program leadership - Maintain strong communication with coaches, students, support groups, and ground staff; ensure compliance with school and competition regulations; promote the sport through newsletters and community engagement.
• Professional development - Deliver at least two PD sessions per season, attend relevant PD opportunities, and encourage ongoing in‑service training for coaches.
•  End‑of‑season review - Coordinate awards and functions, manage team photography, complete season reporting, attend APS review meetings, and conduct formal program evaluations.
• Year‑round engagement - Promote student involvement in external competitions, attend Head of Sport meetings, and lead off‑season planning and preparation.

What we are looking for

• Cricket program leadership - Experience managing or leading a cricket program within a school, club, academy or representative environment.
• Program design across age groups - Proven ability to design and deliver engaging cricket programs for varied ages and ability levels.
• Competitive coaching experience - Background coaching teams in school, club or representative competitions.
• Coach and volunteer coordination - Capability to lead coaching staff, volunteers and support personnel to deliver a cohesive program.
• Operational planning - Strong experience organising fixtures, training schedules, competitions, tours and representative opportunities.
• Player development pathways - Demonstrated success developing players and establishing clear progression pathways from participation to performance.
• Stakeholder collaboration - Ability to work effectively with schools, clubs, governing bodies and external cricket organisations.
• Team selection & communication - Experience managing selection processes, team structures and communication with students, families and staff.
• Positive sporting culture - Commitment to fostering high standards, accountability and a strong, inclusive cricket culture.
• Program operations management - Competence in managing facilities, equipment, transport, officials and match‑day logistics.
