About the role
Senior Cost Control Specialist – Perth CBD – Permanent Full-Time Join Western Power's Transmission Growth team and play a key role in shaping the future of Western Australia's energy network. In this role, you will perform project cost control activities across a portfolio of projects, including budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, cost analysis and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle. Your Role in Action Act as Western Power's project cost control specialist, providing cost forecasting, budget management, cost analysis and financial reporting across a portfolio of projects. Manage project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting across a portfolio of complex projects. Analyse cost variances, monitor performance trends, and provide insights to support informed project and commercial decisions. Maintain accurate project forecasts, identifying and explaining any deviations from planned budgets and cost profiles. Apply change control processes, assess cost impacts of scope changes, and ensure budget adjustments are appropriately managed and communicated. Build effective relationships with project teams and stakeholders, providing clear reporting and supporting consistent cost management practices. What Makes You a Great Fit 10+ years' experience in project cost control within a complex project environment. Bachelor’s degree in finance, Engineering, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Strong experience in cost forecasting, budgeting, cost variance analysis and financial reporting. Highly developed analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends, investigate variances and provide clear cost insights. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and manage competing priorities in a changing environment.
