About the role
About the role
The Occupational Therapy Manager is responsible for leadership of Auburn Health's occupational therapy service line, quality and compliance infrastructure, and clinical practice excellence. Reporting to the director, this role combines day-to-day management of the OT team with practice-wide accountability for NDIS audit readiness, quality assurance, and clinical training systems. This is a senior clinical leadership role that balances three core functions: leading the OT team operationally, building compliance and quality systems for the entire practice, and maintaining an active clinical caseload to model best-practice occupational therapy.
Key responsibilities
Provide operational leadership and clinical supervision to all occupational therapists, ensuring high-quality service delivery, professional development, and team cohesion
Lead and coordinate the OT team across all Auburn Health locations, serving as primary point of contact for OT-related operational matters
Allocate and manage OT caseloads to optimize capacity, maintain equitable distribution, and match clinician skills to participant needs
Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, and professional development support to all OTs, including AHPRA supervision for overseas-trained therapists
Conduct regular quality audits on clinical documentation for all disciplines using Auburn Health's Clinical Report Reviewers Checklist
Track and report on clinical quality metrics including report turnaround times, documentation standards, and compliance with NDIS practice requirements
Develop and maintain clinical templates, forms, checklists, and documentation tools to support consistent high-quality outputs
Deliver high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions to NDIS participants.
Monitor OT scheduling, referral pathways, and waitlist management to ensure timely service delivery and adherence to Auburn Health's 24-hour referral-to-booking standard
Address OT service delivery issues, bottlenecks, and operational inefficiencies through process improvement
About you
Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist with no conditions or restrictions
Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in occupational therapy clinical practice
Demonstrated experience in team leadership, clinical supervision, or management of allied health professionals
Proven track record designing, delivering, and governing training, competency, and compliance frameworks in allied health settings
Deep understanding of NDIS practice standards, clinical governance, regulatory compliance, and audit processes
Experience conducting quality audits, managing compliance systems, and preparing for external audits
Strong operational and organisational skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities across clinical, quality, and compliance domains
Excellent data analysis and reporting skills, with ability to track, interpret, and present quality and compliance metrics
High proficiency with practice management systems (e.g., Splose), data tracking tools, and Microsoft Office suite
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with ability to produce high-quality policies, SOPs, reports, and clinical documentation
