About the role
We receive applications from a wide range of clinicians, so we want to be upfront about who this role is genuinely suited to. We are only considering applications from candidates who meet all of the following criteria:
✅ You are a registered psychologist or qualified couples therapist
✅ You are at a mid-to-late career stage with strong clinical experience
✅ You are available to work two or more days per week in person from one of our inner-Melbourne clinic locations
✅ You are seeking a long-term, stable private practice — not a short-term or interim arrangement
✅ You are not looking for a Telehealth-only role
If you do not meet these requirements, this role is unlikely to be the right fit at this time.
After 11 years, Inner Melbourne Clinical Psychology has built something we're genuinely proud of — a thoughtful, well-supported group psychology practice with three inner-Melbourne locations and a carefully selected team of experienced clinicians who do exceptional work.
We are not a high-volume, churn-and-burn practice. We are selective, intentional and deeply committed to creating the conditions in which experienced therapists can do their best clinical work — sustainably, and for the long term.
If you are a mid-to-late career psychologist or couples therapist who is ready to make a considered move into a stable, high-quality private practice, we'd love to talk.
11 years established with a strong, loyal referral base
Three inner-Melbourne clinic locations
Full administrative support so you can focus on clinical work
Autonomy over fees, schedule, caseload and clinical approach
Thoughtful and personalised client matching
Experienced, settled and collegial clinical team
Regular professional development, workshops and peer supervision
Structured onboarding with ongoing support from day one
Service fee of 40.5% for in-person clinic sessions
Service fee of 35% for Telehealth sessions conducted from home
Flexible Telehealth options available within your week — however we are not recruiting for Telehealth-only positions
Autonomy without isolation. Private practice should offer freedom — but it shouldn't leave you feeling alone. At IMCP, you have genuine autonomy over your clinical work, fees, schedule and caseload, while being part of a responsive and thoughtful practice that genuinely has your back.
Full admin support. Our dedicated Support Team is one of the things our therapists value most. They handle intake enquiries, appointment bookings, payments, Medicare rebates, cancellation lists, late payment follow-up, diary support and client communications — so you can focus fully on your clinical work, not the administrative burden of running a solo practice.
Thoughtful client matching. We don't simply fill appointment slots. Our Support Team gets to know each clinician's interests, style, preferences and scope over time, and matches clients accordingly. You always retain the autonomy to decide whether a referral is right for you.
Serious clinical governance. Our processes are regularly reviewed through a therapeutic lens, guided by client care, therapist wellbeing and evolving best-practice standards.
A rich learning culture. We are a practice of experienced clinicians who believe learning never stops. Our 2026 team calendar includes workshops and Q&As covering neuroaffirming care, OCD, working with autistic clients, perimenopause, medication, grief and loss, attachment-informed practice, peer group supervision, book club, team dinners and more.
Beautiful spaces. Our consulting rooms are warm, calm and filled with character. Therapists and clients alike tell us they feel settled the moment they arrive.
We provide psychological therapy for adults and couples only. We do not provide court reports, single assessments, crisis services or services through third parties such as NDIS or TAC.
We know joining a new practice is a significant professional decision, even for the most experienced clinicians. When we invite someone to join IMCP, we do so wholeheartedly. As part of your onboarding you will receive a clear induction process with our Support Team Manager, monthly check-ins with our director for your first three months, the option of an informal buddy from within the team, and access to our clinic accountant for guidance on GST, superannuation and tax compliance.
"Since joining the team at IMCP, I have felt deeply supported, encouraged and respected. Jacqueline has created a genuinely supportive environment with thoughtful opportunities for collaboration, social connection and professional development."
— Melody Howlett, Couples Therapist
"IMCP has provided me with the perfect balance of flexibility and autonomy as a clinician, while also feeling supported by Jacqueline, the Support Team and other clinicians within the team."
— Jane Stewart, Psychologist
"Inner Melbourne Clinical Psychology has provided me with an exceptional introduction to private practice and a supportive atmosphere for further cultivating my clinical skills."
— Dr Sue Baker
"Jacqueline runs an ethically operated practice that prioritises the wellbeing of both clients and psychologists. I truly appreciate that I have freedom to choose how I work, my schedule, the types of clients I see and my client fees."
— Alice Tsai, Clinical Psychologist
Inner Melbourne Clinical Psychology was founded by Dr Jacqueline Baulch, a clinical psychologist and Board Approved Supervisor. Jacqueline created IMCP with the aim of building a practice where therapists could do strong clinical work in a sustainable and fulfilling way. She is responsive, passionate and closely connected to the direction and values of the practice.
If you meet the criteria outlined at the top of this ad and feel that IMCP could be the right long-term fit for you, we'd genuinely love to hear from you.
Please apply through SEEK with your resume and a cover letter outlining your clinical experience, your area/s of focus and what draws you to IMCP specifically.
We take our time with this process because fit matters — in both directions. We look forward to getting to know you.
