With our project pipeline continuing to grow, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Sales Estimator to step into a key role where your technical knowledge, quoting expertise, and understanding of steel processing will directly contribute to winning work and supporting the next stage of our growth.

The Role

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will prepare accurate, competitive quotations for steel processing and fabrication work, including brake pressing, rolling, section rolling, and related services. Working closely with clients and internal teams, you will interpret drawings, clarify scope, and turn enquiries into well-costed quotes that support profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for steel processing and fabrication work, including brake pressing, laser cutting, and rolling

• Review engineering drawings, CAD files, and specifications to determine materials, labour, and processing requirements

• Liaise with clients and internal teams to clarify scope, specifications, and delivery requirements

• Source supplier and subcontractor pricing to support competitive, commercially sound quotes

• Manage enquiries through to quote submission and order handover

• Build and maintain strong client relationships while following up quotes to maximise conversion

• Work closely with production to confirm technical feasibility and realistic lead times

• Maintain accurate estimating records and contribute to continuous improvement in pricing and quoting processes

Skills & Experience Required

• Solid industry experience in steel processing, metal fabrication, structural steel, or a similar heavy fabrication environment is essential

• Proven estimating or quoting experience, with the ability to prepare accurate labour, material, and processing costings

• Confident reading and interpreting workshop and fabrication drawings.

• Strong understanding of steel grades and common processing methods such as cutting, bending, rolling.

• Commercially minded, with the ability to manage multiple quotes to deadline and high level of detail.

• A client-focused approach with strong Written and verbal communication.

• Experience with brake pressing or press brake operations will be highly regarded

• A relevant trade qualification will be well regarded.
