Role Description This full-time, on-site Integration Engineer role is based in Canberra and focuses on integrating simulation and training systems within complex defense and training environments. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and implementing system interfaces, configuring and testing integrations between software, hardware, and simulation platforms, and troubleshooting technical issues across interconnected systems. The Integration Engineer will collaborate closely with systems engineers, project managers, and client stakeholders to capture requirements, develop integration plans, and support acceptance testing and commissioning. The role also involves preparing technical documentation, contributing to solution architecture decisions, and ensuring integrations meet performance, security, and compliance standards. Participation in project reviews, continuous improvement activities, and occasional support to demonstration or trial events is expected.
Qualifications
Experience with systems integration, including interfacing simulation platforms, training systems, and related software/hardware components.Solid understanding of systems engineering principles, requirements analysis, and solution design within complex technical environments.Proficiency with networking concepts, APIs, data exchange formats, and integration tools commonly used in simulation or defense systems.Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and perform structured integration and regression testing.Strong documentation skills for technical specifications, integration plans, test procedures, and operational handover materials.Effective communication and collaboration capabilities for working with multidisciplinary teams and client stakeholders.Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.Experience in the simulation, training, or defense domain is highly desirable, including familiarity with military training solutions.Demonstrated ability to work on-site in Canberra, manage priorities in a project-driven environment, and maintain high professional standards.Eligibility to work in Australia and ability to meet any applicable security or clearance requirements, if needed for client engagements.
