Our mission to change how travel is seen involves showing people how to make their journeys as fulfilling as possible through providing the latest news and how to improve journey quality. Travel Radar is growing; We are looking for a number News Editor Interns to join our team on a part-time, flexible, basis. As a News Editor Intern in our busy Editorial Team, you can expect excellent training, support and opportunities to get stuck in, coming out of the internship with real-world experience, and a CPD Diploma at either Level 3, 5 or 7. Whether you decide to stick as a contributor/Web Editor with us thereafter, or venture into a career in the industry, a placement with Travel Radar will be just the beginning of your journey! In this role, you can expect excellent training, support and opportunities to get stuck in, and a chance to let your talent take-off.
Responsibilities and A Little More About the Role:Working on an assigned publication vertical - for example Route Development, Airport News, Sustainability - and coordinate a team of journalists and contributors (freelance and inhouse) to curate news and evergreen storiesDeveloping engaging, creative, innovative content for regular web content, which enlighten audiences across the globe, and of varying demographics (Consumers, Frequent Fliers, Airline Executives etc.)Auditing and analysing web content, visitor data and determine efficacy and areas for news desk improvementSpeaking with industry contacts, press offices and airline representatives to interview, source and compile quotes and facts for storiesLeading a shift of our Editorial News desk, supporting journalists and contributors, forwarding/organising inbound story leads, and reviewing submissions of articles as required in a 'Duty Editor' rota capacityCompleting CPD Diploma at either level 3, 5 or 7 in 'Journalism' which will include keeping a portfolio during the internship, with additional eLearning, skill and personal development sessionsWho We're Looking For:Passion for Journalism, Blog Writing, Editing or Creative WritingPrevious writing portfolio or experience as a copy/content editor - it could be of an academic magazine, local newspaper or side projectCurrently studying a creative or technical journalism field subject, or other course with an aim to go into Journalism full-timeWillingness to learnGreat communication and teamwork skillsProficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CMS (content-management systems) such as WordPressInterpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levelsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentLooking for a part-time internship over the weekend period (Friday evening to Sunday)Why intern at Travel Radar?💻 Flexible intern working arrangements - fully remote position💰 Lunch & Travel Expenses covered for physical working✈ Discount Program with 3000 retailers from travel to shopping to car insurance🥇Physical and Mental Wellbeing Support📚 Great Training and Learning Resources🌎 Press Pass to attend events, conferences and air shows representing Travel Radar🖥 Latest Tech including free Office365, GPT4 AI, Adobe Photoshop and Canva Pro subscription and access to company laptop/desktops and Virtual Machines🎓 CPD Certified training courses including a CPD Diploma at either Level 3, 5 or 7Additional InformationCommitment per Week: 12hrs per week (1-2 days per week, fully flexible)Reports to: Editorial ManagerApplication Deadline: 20th July 2026Start Date/s: Please note this is an unpaid/voluntary internship and is therefore part-time in nature (1-2 days per week).Location: Florida and Sydney (REMOTE)
