Brief

We're looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Associate to join our dynamic and collaborative Employment & Incentives team in Melbourne. As part of a global team, you will work closely with partners, senior and junior team members to provide expert legal advice and representation on workplace-related matters, both litigious and transactional.

As a Senior Associate in our Employment & Incentives team you will advise and represent clients on all aspects of employment, industrial relations, discrimination and safety law. This includes:

managing disputes and litigation in State and Federal courts and tribunalsconducting or advising on workplace investigations relating to alleged bullying, harassment, discrimination and whistleblower issuesmanaging and advising on underpayment and other workplace compliance matters, including engaging with workplace regulatorsassisting clients with enterprise bargaining and managing industrial disputesadvising on workforce planning, restructuring, integration and the employment aspects of corporate transactionsadvising on safety compliance and responding to safety incidents, andsupervising and mentoring junior members of the team.

About You

You will need to be an Australian-qualified lawyer, with five to eight years post-qualification experience gained substantially in private practice, along with the following skills and attributes:

demonstrated experience in employment lawstrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise with clients and diverse stakeholder audiencescollegiate and collaborative, with the ability to lead, mentor and support other team members strong organisational skills, with the ability to assimilate information quickly and handle multiple priorities under pressure or within tight timeframescommercial awareness to give clients clear answers and directionenthusiasm and motivation to engage in business development, andenjoy working in an engaged and high-performing team.
