About the role

Bambini Trust Restaurant & Wine Room is seeking a Section Waiter to join our team in Sydney. This is a casual position offering an excellent opportunity to work in one of Sydney's most respected Italian dining establishments. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our guests across your assigned section, ensuring a memorable dining experience. This role is perfect for hospitality professionals who take pride in their work and are looking for a position with Sundays off and the potential to earn great tips in a high-quality restaurant environment.

What you'll be doing

• Presenting menus and providing knowledgeable recommendations about our Italian cuisine2 and specials

• Taking accurate food and beverage orders whilst ensuring clarity on any special dietary requirements or preferences

• Communicating orders efficiently to the kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service flow

• Delivering food and beverages to tables with professionalism and attention to detail, ensuring correct items reach the correct guests

• Maintaining table presentation throughout the dining experience, clearing courses promptly and resetting tables as required

• Checking in with guests to ensure satisfaction with their meals and addressing any concerns immediately

• Processing payments accurately and professionally, whether cash or card transactions

• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of your section throughout service

• Supporting colleagues during peak service times and assisting with general restaurant duties as needed

• Adhering to health and safety standards and responsible service of alcohol guidelines

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a waiter or in a similar front-of-house hospitality role, preferably in fine dining or upmarket casual establishments

• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards, including proper plating and service techniques

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact confidently and professionally with diverse guests and team members

• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tables simultaneously without compromising service quality

• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating positive guest experiences

• Reliability and punctuality, with the flexibility to work varied shift patterns including evenings and weekends (Sundays off)

• Basic numeracy skills for accurate order taking and payment processing

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure

• A positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile for guests

• Preferred: Experience in Italian restaurants or with Italian cuisine and wine knowledge

• RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification
