About the role
About the Company
We're an established, profitable software company with an international customer base and operations across multiple markets.
We're looking for a senior finance leader to take ownership of the finance function and help the business continue to scale well.
About the Role
As Head of Finance, you'll report directly to the CEO and lead a small finance team across accounting, payroll and accounts payable/receivable.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can keep the fundamentals running exceptionally well while also improving how finance supports the wider business. You'll be close enough to the detail to understand what's really happening, but senior enough to step back, identify problems and help the business make better decisions.
You'll take ownership of the finance function, including financial reporting and control, cash flow and treasury, tax and compliance across global operations, payroll, budgeting and forecasting, and the systems and processes that support the team. You'll also bring a strong commercial lens, including SaaS metrics and analysis, helping turn financial information into useful decisions rather than simply reporting what has already happened.
What You'll Do
Lead and develop a small finance team across accounting, payroll and AP/AR.Own the integrity and reliability of the finance function, including close, consolidation, reporting, audit, global tax and compliance, transfer pricing, and balance sheet accuracy.Oversee cash flow, banking, treasury and intercompany accounting across global operations.Own budgeting and forecasting, and provide commercial and financial analysis to support better business decisions.Oversee payroll and the financial side of people systems.Develop and report on key SaaS and business metrics.Ensure the day-to-day finance fundamentals, including AP/AR, reconciliations, supplier payments and spend controls, are done accurately and on time.Support finance-related commercial contracts and vendor processes.Identify weaknesses, inefficiencies and risks in the finance function, then improve them without compromising day-to-day reliability.Build better systems and processes as the company grows, rather than simply maintaining the status quo.Work directly with the CEO and other leaders on financial questions and decisions across the business.
About You
You'll be a qualified accountant with a strong track record in demanding finance environments. Big 4 training is highly regarded, particularly experience in audit, deals/transaction services, valuations, CFO advisory or similar.
You'll have strong technical accounting foundations, but you'll also be comfortable working beyond pure accounting into commercial analysis, forecasting and broader business decisions.
You'll probably enjoy this role if you:
Like getting to the bottom of unfamiliar or messy problems rather than waiting for a playbook. Can move comfortably between detail and the bigger picture.
The company offers a competitive salary, employee equity, flexible working arrangements, paid parental leave and support for ongoing learning and development.
