Building Cadet

About the role

Onsite Group is seeking a Building Cadet to join our team in Edgecliff, NSW. This is a part-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to begin your career in the construction and project management industry. As a Building Cadet, you will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience in site management, project coordination, and construction practices. This role is instrumental in supporting our project teams and developing the next generation of construction professionals.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting project managers and senior site staff with day-to-day site operations and coordination

• Conducting site inspections and documenting progress, including taking photographs and maintaining records

• Supporting the preparation of construction documentation, including schedules, plans and reports

• Liaising with contractors, suppliers and other site personnel to ensure smooth project delivery

• Assisting with health and safety compliance and site induction procedures

• Observing and learning best practices in construction management and project delivery

• Supporting the administrative functions of the project team, including correspondence and filing

• Attending site meetings and assisting with meeting preparation and follow-up actions

• Helping to coordinate site activities and resource allocation under supervision

What we're looking for

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related field

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

• Basic computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

• A genuine interest in the construction industry and project management

• Willingness to learn and develop professional skills under mentorship

• Valid driver's licence and reliable transport to site

• Current White Card (Construction Induction) or willingness to obtain one

• Preferred experience: Any previous work experience on construction sites or in related industries
