The Trustee for Aero Trust

Aero Group is seeking a detail-oriented and commercially focused Accountant to support the operational success of our growing organisation. We are seeking a passionate and skilled full-time accountant 38 hours per week with relevant qualifications and work experience to join our team. 

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients, including small businesses, corporations, and individuals, delivering tailored accounting and advisory services.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on accounting and business matters.
• Prepare and complete end-to-end payroll, BAS, PAYG, and superannuation obligations.
• Prepare financial statements, tax returns, and other financial documents for clients in compliance with relevant regulations.
• Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to clients by identifying opportunities to improve processes and implement best practices for their business.
• Assist in business development efforts, including client acquisition.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and industry trends to provide informed advice to clients and the team.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective accounting practices.

• Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, taxation legislation, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Assist with clients external audits and regulatory reporting obligations.
• Liaise with clients, the ATO, ASIC and other government authorities.
• Identify accounting errors, missing information and compliance issues.
• Develop and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard company data
• Support the implementation and optimisation of ERP and cloud-based accounting systems
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across business operations.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in accounting, commerce, finance, or equivalent accounting qualification.
• Minimum 3 years’ work experience as an accountant.
• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation and financial reporting requirements.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Positive, proactive and responsible attitude.
• Strong communication and client-service skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Practical experience preparing financial statements, tax returns, BAS and IAS.
• Good knowledge of Australian taxation, GST and accounting requirements.
• Experience with Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Xero Tax or similar software.
