🚨 Female Disability Support Worker – ASAP Start | Werribee 🚨

Melbourne Health & Care Services (MHCS) is currently seeking experienced and compassionate Female Disability Support Workers to join our growing team in Werribee.

Additional opportunities to pick up more hours may also be available.

We are particularly seeking support workers who have experience working with participants presenting with complex mental health, behavioural support needs, trauma backgrounds, and psychosocial disabilities.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women are strongly encouraged to apply. Indigenous female support workers or applicants with strong cultural awareness and understanding of Indigenous backgrounds are highly desirable for this role.

About the Role:
As a Disability Support Worker with MHCS, you will provide person-centred support to participants within their home and community. You will assist participants to build independence, engage in the community, achieve personal goals, and maintain their daily living skills while providing professional and compassionate support.

This role may involve:
• Personal care support
• Community access and transportation
• Social support and engagement
• Emotional support and de-escalation
• Assisting with daily living tasks
• Completing progress notes and incident reporting
• Supporting participants with complex behaviours and verbal aggression

Essential Skills & Experience:
• Previous disability support experience
• Experience supporting participants with mental health and complex behaviours
• Confidence managing verbal escalations in a calm and professional manner
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Reliable, compassionate, and professional approach
• Current driver’s licence
• Reliable vehicle preferred
