Feedlot Livestock Hand

CDS Feeders are currently seeking a passionate individual with cattle handling and horsemanship experience to join our Livestock Team at Pinegrove Feedlot, a 10,000-head feedlot located near Millmerran on the Darling Downs.

About the role

• Day-to-day livestock duties including pen riding, cattle movements, drafting, induction, processing and hospital treatments.

• Accurate data entry and record keeping using specialist feedlot software (StockAid).

• Monitor cattle health, welfare and performance daily in accordance with company protocols and procedures.

• Handle cattle using low-stress livestock handling principles.

• Perform all livestock operations safely and in accordance with company Workplace Health and Safety policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

• Assist with the general maintenance of feedlot infrastructure, equipment and facilities.

About you

• Previous cattle handling and horsemanship experience.

• Ability to supply a minimum of two horses (up to five) suitable for feedlot work.

• Excellent stock sense and practical cattle handling skills.

• Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
