Are you an experienced and compassionate Palliative Care Nurse ready to step into a leadership role? Ramsay Health Care is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Consultant to lead and enhance our palliative care services. As our Clinical Nurse Consultant for Palliative Care, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of exemplary care. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing advanced clinical consultation and expert advice to nursing staff, medical teams, and allied health professionals on all aspects of palliative care.
• Developing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based palliative care policies, procedures, and clinical practice guidelines.
• Leading and participating in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex palliative care needs.
• Acting as a key resource for education and professional development for staff, enhancing their knowledge and skills in palliative care.
• Facilitating multidisciplinary team meetings and contributing to collaborative care planning.
• Advocating for patients and their families, ensuring their choices, values, and cultural needs are respected throughout their care journey.
• Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and research activities within palliative care.
• Mentoring and supporting nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
• Liaising with community palliative care services to ensure seamless transitions of care.

About You

We are looking for a Clinical Nurse Consultant who demonstrates:

• Exceptional clinical expertise and a deep understanding of palliative care principles and practices.
• Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to influence and inspire multidisciplinary teams.
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, enabling effective engagement with patients, families, and colleagues.
• A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient and family care.
• The ability to think critically, problem-solve complex clinical scenarios, and make sound clinical judgements.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
• Experience in developing and delivering education and training programs.

Essential Criteria

• Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Postgraduate qualification in Palliative Care, or working towards same, or extensive experience in a dedicated palliative care role.
• Minimum five years post-graduate experience, with at least three years in a senior clinical role within palliative care.
• Demonstrated ability to undertake comprehensive clinical assessments and formulate care plans for complex palliative care patients.
• Experience in leadership, education, and quality improvement activities.
