About the role
As our business continues to grow and production activity increases, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef de Partie to join our Production Kitchen team at Vasse Village by Bunbury Farmers Market.
This is a hands-on role supporting the delivery of high-quality food across our Market Made kitchens, carvery, and café operations. You will lead an allocated kitchen section and ensure food is prepared, cooked, and presented safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Bunbury Farmers Market standards.

Bunbury Farmers Market is a leading regional independent retailer of fresh produce, Market Made meals and we provide high-quality specialist departments including our Gourmet Butcher/Deli, Dairy, Groceries, Sweet and Savory Pastries and Café. We source our produce from over 150 local growers and together with our partners Hancock Prospecting, we are poised for rapid growth to continue achieving “Extreme Value and Extreme Freshness” in everything we do.
Role Summary
Reporting to our Kitchen Manager and working closely with the Head Chef, you will lead an allocated kitchen section and support the delivery of high-quality food across our Market Made kitchens, carvery, and café operations. Your duties will include:
Preparing and cooking food in accordance with menus, recipes, production requirements, and time schedules.
Completing mise en place and ensuring your section is organised and ready for service.
Monitoring food quality, consistency, portion control, presentation, and the quality of ingredients.
Supervising, training, and supporting kitchen hands and other team members within your section.
Maintaining food safety, hygiene, cleaning, workplace health and safety, and equipment standards.
Leading by example through punctuality, professional presentation, teamwork, and safe work practices.
Supporting the smooth operation of kitchen services and performing other duties reasonably required within the scope of the role.
What You Will Bring
Full, unrestricted rights to work in Australia.
Demonstrated hands-on culinary experience and the ability to run a kitchen section effectively.
A formal culinary qualification or equivalent industry training relevant to the role.
Strong leadership, supervisory, organisational, and communication skills.
Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, workplace health and safety, recipes, and cooking procedures.
A strong commitment to food quality, consistency, presentation, and attention to detail.
The ability to lead by example, follow direction, respond positively to feedback, and provide clear direction to others.
A reliable, punctual, flexible, and team-focused approach to work.
The ability to work early starts, weekends, and public holidays where required.
Experience in a high-volume kitchen, café, carvery, or production food environment, including training or mentoring junior staff, will be highly regarded.
