About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Front of House professional to join the team at Mint and Co in Melbourne. This is a full-time position based in Melbourne VIC 3000, where you will be the face of our establishment and play a crucial role in creating memorable experiences for our guests. As a Front of House team member, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional service, maintaining our high standards, and ensuring every guest feels welcome and valued from the moment they arrive.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting guests warmly and professionally upon arrival, managing seating arrangements and maintaining the dining flow

• Taking food and beverage orders accurately and ensuring timely delivery to the kitchen

• Serving food and beverages with attention to detail and adherence to service standards

• Responding promptly to guest requests and addressing any concerns with professionalism and courtesy

• Clearing and resetting tables efficiently whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness

• Processing payments accurately and securely using point-of-sale systems

• Collaborating with kitchen and back-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations

• Maintaining knowledge of menu items, specials, and available options to provide informed recommendations

• Upholding health and safety standards and following all hospitality protocols

• Contributing to a positive team environment and supporting colleagues during busy service periods

What we're looking for

• Prior experience in a waiting staff or front of house role within a hospitality setting

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for customer service

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment

• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and carry items safely

• Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic numeracy skills for handling payments

• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices

• Flexibility with working hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required

• A positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn and develop within the role

• Preferred: Experience in fine dining or a boutique hospitality venue

• Preferred: Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification
