Welcoming visitors from around Australia and the world, the site offers guided tours, public programs, events and unique visitor experiences that bring the stories of the prison to life.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Visitor Services Supervisor to join the Fremantle Prison team. The Visitor Services Supervisor provides front-of-house leadership and coordinates Tour Guides and front of house staff to ensure the delivery of engaging, informative and customer-focused visitor experiences. The role plays a key part in the day-to-day operation of the tourism business, supporting staff, visitors and stakeholders while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational excellence.

This is a permanent part-time position for a minimum of 29 hours per week. This process may be used to fill future similar permanent or fixed-term positions that may arise within the Department and across the WA public sector in the next 12 months from the initial date of appointment.

To be successful for this position, you need to demonstrate:

• Considerable experience supervising a team of people.
• Considerable experience in providing a customer focused service.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Demonstrated communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrate the behaviours within the leadership context as outlined below.

Core leadership behaviours outlined in Leadership Expectations are applicable to this role and should be demonstrated in the context of Personal Leadership. The Personal Leadership context is about the work of individuals not yet in traditional leadership positions who make a direct and immediate difference to the agency. The expected behaviours may be assessed during the recruitment and selection process.

Special Requirements for this position:

The Department will conduct a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check for applicants successful to this recruitment process.
