Senior Operations Coordinator

Full-time | Senior Operations Leadership Role (24/7 Shift-Based).

Position Overview 

This is a senior operational role supporting site leadership and reporting to the Operations Manager. 

As Senior Operations Coordinator, you are accountable for coordinating the day-to-day operational activities of the site, ensuring customer requirements, safety standards and business targets are consistently achieved. You will play a key role in workforce planning, team capability, and operational execution. 

This role operates within a 24/7 shift-based environment, working a structured roster averaging 42 hours per week (7 x 12-hour Day shifts per fortnight). During Off Peak Season (April-September) hours may be more aligned to M-F working. You will lead day and night shift teams as required, ensuring consistent operational performance and leadership presence across all hours of operation.

What You’ll Be Doing: 

This role is hands-on and leadership focused. You will: 

• Coordinate daily site operations including scheduling, workflow management and product processing 
• Lead workforce planning activities including rostering, shift allocation and leave management 
• Provide day-to-day leadership, direction and support to operational teams 
• Build team capability through training, coaching and development 
• Support recruitment, onboarding and performance management processes 
• Monitor and manage production schedules, ensuring clear communication with customers and internal stakeholders 
• Identify, escalate and resolve operational issues, including plant and equipment challenges 
• Drive operational efficiency, continuous improvement and service delivery outcomes 
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements at all times 
• Oversee site housekeeping, maintenance coordination and facility standards 

You will be a key link between frontline operations and site leadership, ensuring smooth execution and a high-performing team environment across a continuous 24/7 operation.

Key Requirements – About You 

You are an experienced operations professional who thrives in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment and enjoys leading teams to deliver strong outcomes. You bring: 

• Experience in a manufacturing, logistics, healthcare or other highly regulated operational environment 
• Demonstrated experience in leading or supervising operational teams 
• Strong capability in workforce planning, rostering and managing operational priorities 
• Experience working within shift-based or 24/7 operational environments (highly regarded) 
• Experience supporting training, onboarding and performance management processes 
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in dynamic environments 
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills 
• A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to balance operational and people priorities 
• A strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement 

Experience in sterilisation, irradiation processing or medical/cleanroom environments will be highly regarded.
