Production Manager

PRODUCTION MANAGER

Optima Press, located in Balcatta, is seeking an experienced and motivated Production Manager to join our team.

This is a key leadership position responsible for the overall administration, coordination and management of our production area — from planning and scheduling work through to ensuring the highest standards of quality are achieved in finished products.

The Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Managing and coordinating the day-to-day production operations

• Planning and scheduling work to ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved

• Supervising production staff and effectively managing workflow

• Ensuring jobs are produced efficiently, accurately and to customer specifications

• Maintaining a strong focus on quality control and finished product standards

• Liaising and negotiating with colleagues, suppliers and customers

• Working closely with the sales, estimating and production teams

• Identifying and resolving production issues and implementing practical solutions

• Ensuring production processes are organised, efficient and cost-effective

• Managing production administration and maintaining accurate records

About You

We are looking for an experienced printing professional with:

• A strong background in the print industry

• Thorough working knowledge of pre-press, offset and digital printing

• Comprehensive knowledge of print finishing processes

• Proven experience in staff management and supervision

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong time management and organisational skills

• The ability to manage multiple jobs and consistently meet deadlines

• Experience negotiating and building effective relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers

• A strong commitment to producing high-quality finished work

• Excellent administrative and problem-solving skills

• A positive, hands-on approach and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced production environment

Experience with PrintIQ would be advantageous but is not essential.
