Chef (Day Shift)

THE ROLE

We are seeking a permanent part-time Chef (Day shift).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Providing meals to approx. 190 residential students, as well as being a valued team player.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

• Experience in hospitality, catering or the food service industry and the ability to prepare a range of meals at the direction of the Lead Chef.

• Ability to follow directions and adhere to set standards of service as provided by the Lead Chef.

• ·Adhere to all regulatory requirements regarding safe food handling, allergen labelling protocols cleanliness, hygiene and safe utilisation and maintenance of kitchen equipment.

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, service providers, and college stakeholders.

• The ability to interact with all staff and students to ensure efficient delivery of catering and food service.

• Recent National Police Check

Desirable

• Experience in working in a commercial kitchen environment.

• Safe Food Handling Certification

QUALIFICATIONS

• Certificate III or IV in hospitality, Kitchen Management, Commercial Cookery (or related)

HOURS OF WORK

• 15 hours per week plus 15 hours every 3rd weekend (Hours negotiable)
