About the role
Metro Assist and CABL Limited (formerly Metro Migrant Resource Centre) are seeking experienced and committed Families Together Practitioners to join our Families Together Family Preservation Program, supporting children and families to remain safe, connected, and together at home.
This is a frontline practice role for a skilled practitioner who is passionate about child‑centred, family‑led, trauma‑informed, and culturally responsive practice.
Families Together is a DCJ‑funded Family Preservation program working intensively with families whose children are at risk of entering, or escalating within, the statutory child protection system.
The program focuses on strengthening parenting capacity, improving family functioning, and supporting child safety outcomes through home‑based and community‑based service delivery.
Metro Assist and CABL Limited is a values‑driven community organisation, committed to social justice, equity, cultural safety, and inclusive practice.
As a Families Together Practitioner, you will deliver intensive family support and casework services to families experiencing complex and intersecting challenges, including trauma, parenting stress, mental health concerns, family violence, housing instability, and social isolation. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with the Families Together Team Leader and Child and Family Therapeutic Clinician to deliver coordinated, strengths‑based support that prioritises child safety and family preservation. Services are delivered primarily through home visits and community outreach, requiring flexibility, strong engagement skills, and sound professional judgement.
Location - Campbelltown
You are a motivated and values‑driven practitioner who works effectively with families under pressure and keeps children’s safety and wellbeing at the centre of practice.
You must be available between the hours of 6am and 8pm to meet client requirements. You will be required to work 35 hours per week (7 hour working days).
