The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
The Regional and Specialist team includes Integrated Specialist Services, Mental Health and Wellbeing Services, Primary Healthcare Services, Birthing and Early Childhood Services (South), and Child and Youth Services. Our purpose is to connect, guide, and empower teams and communities through culturally safe, transparent, and responsive ways.
About the Role?
As Paediatric Coordinator, your role is coordinate the care for children (under the age of 8 years predominately but extending to 16 where necessary) and their families. The role will entail both coordination as well as direct clinical care. This role will be primarily located in Waterford West.
Your day to day duties may include:
Manage and triage referrals to our paediatrician services.
Deliver clinical services including an assessment of the child and family’s needs.
Coordinate care for the child and family throughout their engagement with the paediatrician service.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and coordinate case conferences and maintain links to services.
Refer to other services both internally and externally to support the wellbeing of the child and family.
Deliver health promotion and support engagement with clinic staff and services, including immunization program and regular health checks.
About You?
Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD).
Current AHPRA Registration - Nurse
Current Disability Worker Screening Check (Qld Yellow Card).
Post graduate qualification in Child Health, Public health or related Qualification.
Current First Aid and CPR Certificates.
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable, but not mandatory:
Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
