Saw Operator / Trades Assistant – Fulltime Permanent

About the role! 

Area Safe Products division, Astra Street Furniture, assembles outdoor furniture products such as seats, benches, bins, bollards etc.  You will work alongside other assemblers performing cutting duties.

• 5 days per week (7.30am start, 38hr week, overtime available when required – workload driven)

• Based from warehouse in Minchinbury, Western Sydney 

• Using drop saws to cut timber, recycled composite, and aluminium (slats & planks) to required lengths.

• Preparing materials for assembly team.

• Other related duties that may be required include:

  • Predrilling of timber & aluminium slats

  • Assembly of timber & aluminium benches, tables & seats, screwing on slats etc

  • Packaging, packing, palletising & wrapping of assembled furniture & carpark fixtures

  • Other general assembly, manufacturing or warehouse duties as required

About you!

• Prior experience in furniture assembly or similar items is an advantage 

• Must have experience with power tools especially drop saws

• Forklift license is an advantage 

• Great attention to detail, produce accurate and quality work – Quality is our #1 value

• Enthusiastic and able to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently 

• Effectively prioritise work & meet required deadlines 

• Meet attendance requirements and work without constant supervision 

• Be flexible with an energetic, can-do, positive attitude 

• Work in a safe manner, adhering to company WHS policies
