About the Role

Reporting to the Coordinator Environmental Health the core responsibilities include:

• Conduct food safety assessments/inspections and investigate complaints.
• Investigate and resolve public and environmental health issues in the community.
• Conduct inspections of registered health premises and rooming houses.

About You

• Eligible for membership of Environmental Health Professionals Australia and have tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health.
• Demonstrated experience in Environmental and Public Health within Local Government. A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Environmental Health Officer is desirable.
• Demonstrated experience with the assessment and approval of registered food businesses and health premises.
• Apply initiative, accountability and sound judgement when working independently, effectively prioritising tasks and making informed decisions.
• Flexibility to work up to 5 days per week for a 6-month period across the Mornington Peninsula.
