Social Media Manager / Content Creator (Contractor, Portfolio-Driven)

We're looking for a content creator who lives for the craft. You'll own social media end-to-end for a portfolio of founder-led brands, shaping not just what gets posted, but how these businesses show up in their market.

We're not looking for someone to schedule posts and chase vanity metrics. We're looking for someone who genuinely cares about the brands they work on and the results behind the content. Someone who's so passionate about what they create, confident in their skills, and excited to step into a space where they can hit the ground running with real ownership from day one.

What you'll do

• Own social media end-to-end for a portfolio of client accounts, from strategy through to posting
• Plan and execute monthly content calendars across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn
• Create scroll-stopping content - shoot, edit, and write captions that sound like the brand, not a template
• Run on-location content days with hospitality and food clients around Melbourne
• Manage community and engagement, keeping brands responsive and human
• Report monthly on performance with insights that actually shape the next month, not just fill a slide
• Collaborate with our videographer and wider team on larger shoots and campaigns
• Test new formats, pivot when something isn't landing, and help us sharpen how we do content as the agency grows

What you'll bring

• 3+ years managing social media accounts, ideally across multiple brands or in an agency setting
• A portfolio that shows content you've made, not just content you've scheduled
• Confidence shooting and editing short-form video (Reels/TikTok) on mobile - you don't wait for a production crew
• Writing range - you can switch voice between a café, a coach, and a creative studio without missing a beat
• A strategic eye that's always exploring - you wake up thinking about the next format to test, not just running the same grid on repeat
• Self-direction - deadlines don't chase you, you're ahead of them
• A collaborative mindset - you enjoy building alongside a team as much as owning your own accounts

Compensation

This is a contractor engagement with a paid trial period so both sides know it's the right fit. Rate is discussed at interview and based on experience - your earning potential grows with your portfolio and the results you deliver. You'll need a valid ABN, your own equipment, and appropriate insurance.
