Software Development Lead

About the role

Drive the development of innovative software solutions while leading and mentoring a high-performing development team. You will manage project delivery, coordinate technical priorities, track progress against the roadmap, and play a key role in solving complex technical challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Develop existing and new applications in appropriate technology stack

• Analyse and identify technical areas for modification and improvement

• Work with stakeholders to define and maintain a roadmap to facilitate application software development and ensure work is prioritised in line with business requirements

• Develop and oversee high-quality, production ready software that meets requirements and agreed acceptance criteria

• Work with Technical leads, Product Owners, Architecture, Analysts and User Experience specialists to determine technical solutions

• Provide direction and leadership to a team of software developers, including scheduling, assignment, and review of project work

About you

• Tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline

• Substantial general work experience together with comprehensive job-related experience in own area of expertise to fully competent level

• Experience of supervising and directing people and other resources to achieve specific end results within limited timeframes

• Excellent interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal skills

• Demonstrated experience in commercial Software as a Service platforms to a global customer base

• Experience in working with cloud-based technologies and web server solutions

• Proficiency in technical reporting, strong attention to detail and good presentation skills

• Experience using SCRUM methodology and DevOps practices

• Desirable: Experience in the mining technology industry

• Desirable: Experience working in distributed Software teams
