The Responsibilities:

 Help Desk Support

• Provide assistance to users in relation to Office 365 related Apps managed by IT.

Systems & Software Development

• Application Development & Maintenance

• Write Code: Develop, debug, and maintain complex UniVerse BASIC subroutines, paragraphs, and procs.

• Support ERP: Provide technical support and custom enhancements for the Masterpack MP5 ERP modules (Finance, Inventory, Logistics).

• Data Integrity: Manage record-locking mechanics to prevent system deadlocks and ensure transactional consistency.

Database Administration & Optimization

• File Tuning: Monitor and resize UniVerse dynamic and hashed files (ANALYZE.FILE) to minimize overflow blocks.

• Query Design: Build efficient UniQuery statements and complex I-Types for business reporting.

• Index Management: Build and maintain database indices (LIST.INDEX) to optimize system query response times.

Modernisation & Integration

• API Development: Expose legacy Masterpack business logic as RESTful APIs using Rocket MVIS or native web services.

• Extensibility: Utilize Python inside the UniVerse environment to handle modern data payloads (JSON/XML) and automations.

• Data Pipelines: Assist in building replication paths from the MultiValue database to modern BI and SQL analytics tools.

 Administrative Duties

• Assist in the daily IT functions.

• Create user guides, training documentation.

• Carry out other reasonable tasks as may be required within the scope of the position.

You:

You are a self-motivated individual contributor who is passionate about making an impact. • Database Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience with Rocket UniVerse (or similar MultiValue databases like UniData, Pick, or D3).

• ERP Knowledge: Proven experience developing within the Masterpack MP5 ERP framework.

• Languages: Proficiency in UniVerse BASIC, UniQuery, and procedural coding logic.

• Modern Tech: Experience with Python, RESTful APIs, JSON, and modern version control systems

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT.
