Educators - Video Games and Sport, School Holidays

About the role
Active Gamers Australia is looking for passionate Educators to join our dynamic school holiday program team in Canberra. As an Educator, you'll be responsible for delivering engaging and educational activities to children during school holidays at one of our four centres (Braddon, Woden, Gold Creek, Wanniassa).
Our school holiday programs offer a unique blend of gaming and outdoor sports to keep children entertained and enriched. You'll play a vital role in creating a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where children can learn, grow, and explore their interests.

What you'll be doing

• Facilitating a range of educational and recreational activities, including video games, off-screen games and sports

• Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children in your care

• Providing a nurturing and supportive environment that encourages learning and self-expression

• Collaborating with the program team to implement engaging, age-appropriate activities

• Maintaining accurate records and reporting on children's progress and participation

• Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations

What we're looking for

• A passion for working with children and a genuine interest in their welfare

• Experience in a similar childcare or education role, preferably within a school holiday program or outside school hours care setting is useful

• The ability to lead sporting sessions and physical games for groups of primary aged children

• An interest in video gaming and pop culture is a benefit

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and the wider team

• Creativity and the ability to think outside the box when delivering activities

• A current Working with Vulnerable people card is required. A Child Safety (two short online courses) certificate will be required prior to commencement. A current first aid certificate is a big benefit.
