About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Security Installation Technician to install, commission, service and maintain integrated electronic security solutions.

Working across commercial, government, defence, healthcare, data centre and critical infrastructure sites, you will deliver high-quality technical outcomes while maintaining strong standards of safety, compliance and customer service.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Gallagher Command Centre and enterprise CCTV platforms such as Genetec Security Center, Omnicast and Milestone.

What You’ll be Doing

• Installing, programming and commissioning electronic security systems.

• Deploying Gallagher Access Control solutions, including Controller 6000 Series controllers, readers, inputs/outputs and associated hardware.

• Installing and configuring CCTV systems, including IP cameras, recording infrastructure, video management software and network devices.

• Working with Genetec Security Center, Omnicast and Milestone CCTV platforms.

• Conducting system testing, fault-finding, diagnostics and repairs.

• Completing preventive and corrective maintenance.

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics and security system designs.

• Completing commissioning reports, service records and as-built documentation.

• Installing and testing Cat5e/Cat6 and fibre optic cabling.

• Supporting system upgrades, migrations and technology-refresh programs.

• Liaising with project managers, customers, subcontractors and end users.

• Ensuring all work complies with WHS requirements, Australian Standards, customer specifications and company procedures.

What you’ll bring

• Demonstrated experience installing, commissioning and maintaining integrated electronic security systems.

• Strong Gallagher Command Centre experience, including programming, controller configuration and credential management.

• Experience with Genetec Security Center, Omnicast and/or Milestone CCTV.

• Knowledge of IP cameras, network video recorders, recording platforms and video analytics.

• Experience with intruder detection, alarm monitoring and intercom systems.

• Sound understanding of TCP/IP networking, network switches and equipment commissioning.

• Structured cabling experience, including Cat5e/Cat6 and fibre.

• Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

• The ability to work independently and as part of a project team.

• Excellent communication, documentation and customer service skills.

• A commitment to safety, quality and professional workmanship.

Essential Licences and Qualifications

• Current NV1 Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.

• Current Security Installer Licence.

• Current Open Cabling Registration.

• Gallagher T1A Certification or equivalent Gallagher Command Centre experience.

• Construction White Card.

• Current driver’s licence.

Highly Regarded

• Working at Heights certification.

• EWP licence.

• Fibre optic termination and testing experience.

• Additional manufacturer certifications across CCTV, intrusion or networking platforms.

• Experience working within government, defence, data centre, healthcare or critical infrastructure environments.

Pre‑Employment Requirements:
Appointment to this role is subject to the successful completion of a mandatory pre-employment Medical Assessment, Drug and Alcohol screening, and National Police Check. The successful applicant may also be required to obtain and maintain additional security clearances relevant to the role.
