Project Engineer

About the role

UNIBUILT Retaining Solutions, one of Australia's largest and renowned Retaining Wall Contractors, is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Project Construction & Delivery team. Servicing the civil construction industry, you will execute day-to-day tasks at a detailed level whilst understanding prioritization. The role requires project coordination and multitasking skills, working in a time-efficient manner. You will work closely with Project Managers and report to the Directors and Construction Manager, working alongside industry professionals on major civil and infrastructure projects. This is a full-time position based in the Epping office.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Project Delivery Team, Directors and Construction Manager in the execution of project activities (from procurement, trade letting, documentation review and project handover)

• Interpret data in different formats (Excel, Procore, construction documentation) and perform data analysis

• Manage and review building permit processes

• Review and report on project cost tracking, in conjunction with invoice management

• Implement and maintain best practice processes as part of a continuous improvement plan

• Follow company operational and OHS requirements

• Be proactive in design review to ensure procurement and cost management/budgets are met

• Ensure engineering and technical change is integrated with design, planning, logistics through to project on-site construction

• Highlight and document project design changes and complete document control

• Demonstrate an understanding of managing cost in parallel with time and quality

About you

• Tertiary qualification in the civil field is highly desirable

• Keen interest in the civil industry

• Self-motivated and high attention to details

• Proficiency in time management and task prioritising

• High level of professional conduct and communication in building strong relationships

• Ability to multitask and project manage numerous projects simultaneously

• Leadership skills in problem solving and working within a team environment

• Demonstrate the attribute in approaching challenging tasks with determination
