About the role
Universal Transformer Manufacturers / Universal Electrical Service Co. is a proud, family-owned business based in Western Australia, with a factory located in South Fremantle. We specialize in manufacturing and rewinding transformers for the mining, energy and utilities, industrial automation, and construction industries.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and motivated Factory Hand to join our manufacturing team on a permanent full-time basis.
This is a hands-on role working alongside our experienced production team in the manufacture and assembly of custom-built dry-type transformers. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of manufacturing and workshop activities and will have the opportunity to develop practical skills in transformer manufacturing.
Carry out transformer assembly and termination work.
Read and follow manufacturing drawings and work instructions.
Carry out general fitting, assembly, and finishing work.
Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Assist with fitting transformer components and accessories.
Carry out general workshop and material handling duties.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
Previous experience in a factory, workshop, manufacturing, or similar hands-on environment.
Previous experience in the transformer industry is desirable but not essential.
Comfortable using hand and power tools.
Good mechanical aptitude and practical skills.
Able to read and follow basic drawings and instructions.
Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work.
Forklift licence or experience is desirable but not essential.
Permanent full-time employment.
Stable employment with a well-established Western Australian family-owned company.

Hands-on experience in specialised transformer manufacturing.

Monday to Thursday: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
Friday: 7:30 am – 3:30 pm
