School Improvement Officer – Student Engagement & Wellbeing

Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga is seeking an experienced educational leader to join our School Improvement Services Team in a role that will shape student wellbeing, engagement and inclusion across our Catholic school communities.

Reporting to the Head of Pastoral Care, you will provide strategic leadership and expert support to principals, school leaders and teachers, helping schools create learning environments where every student can thrive.

Working across the Diocese, you will lead the implementation of evidence-informed wellbeing initiatives, strengthen professional capability through coaching and professional learning, and support schools in responding to complex student needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and ongoing development of system-wide student wellbeing initiatives.
• Provide expert advice and support to principals and leadership teams on complex student matters.
• Oversee counselling services and wellbeing programs across the Diocese.
• Develop and deliver professional learning focused on student wellbeing, engagement and mental health.
• Lead policy development and continuous improvement in wellbeing and pastoral care.
• Support schools through coaching, mentoring and collaborative problem-solving.
• Analyse wellbeing and engagement data to inform strategic decision-making.
• Work collaboratively across the School Improvement Services Team and with external education partners.

About You

You are an experienced teacher and educational leader with a strong background in student wellbeing, pastoral care and inclusive education. You have the ability to build trusted relationships, influence practice and support schools to achieve outstanding outcomes for students.

You will also bring:

• Relevant postgraduate qualifications in education, wellbeing or a related discipline.
• Current teacher accreditation.
• Experience leading student wellbeing initiatives and teams.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and inclusive education.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A commitment to the mission and values of Catholic Education.

Regular travel across the Diocese is an inherent requirement of this role and may include overnight stays.
