Local HR Driver

GKR Transport is looking for an experienced and reliable HR Driver to join our Truganina team, completing local pickups and deliveries across Melbourne.

This is a general freight role, and we’re looking for someone who knows how to handle more than just standard pallet freight. You’ll be transporting a mix of general and ugly freight, so strong experience with load restraint, strapping and chaining loads is essential.

You’ll operate our HR tautliner trucks, completing multi drop pickups and deliveries across the Melbourne metro area.

If you’ve got at least 2 years’ HR driving experience, know Melbourne, and are confident safely securing awkward and irregular loads using both straps and chains, we want to hear from you.

• Operating HR tautliners and open rigid trucks

• Completing multi drop pickups and deliveries throughout Melbourne Metro

• Transporting a variety of general and ugly freight

• Correctly restraining loads using straps, chains and other appropriate load restraint methods

• Ensuring freight is secure and transported safely and legally

• Completing pre start and end of day vehicle checks

• Maintaining a professional approach when dealing with customers

• Working as part of a busy, fast paced transport operation

• HR licence or higher

• Minimum 2 years’ HR driving experience

• Must have previous general freight experience

• Demonstrated experience transporting ugly, awkward or irregular freight

• Strong practical experience strapping and chaining loads

• Sound understanding of load restraint requirements

• Good knowledge of Melbourne Metro

• Multi drop pickup and delivery experience

• Forklift licence preferred but not essential

• Strong safety focus and reliable work ethic

• Ability to provide a clean driving record

Successful applicants will also be required to complete a pre-employment medical and police check and provide one recent work reference who can be contacted.
