Elicos Teacher

Explore English is a place to study a range of English language courses in a safe and quality learning environment in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. We offer General English, IELTS Preparation, English for Academic Purposes, PTE Academic Preparation and English for Business. As language Explorers, our students are welcomed into our learning community.

We are looking for an outstanding ELICOS Teacher who will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality and effective lessons to international students. Candidate will utilize technology that is available in the classroom, provide interactive lessons and ensure a range of hands-on activities incorporated into lesson planning that provides students with a quality learning experience. And also marking, lesson preparation and general course administration is completed in a timely manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Providing educational activities ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning are provided to all students in accordance with the Centre’s strategic goals
    
2. Teaching a range of ELICOS programs to international students
    
3. Participating in extra curricula activities that enhance the students’ experience
    
4. Participating in staff meetings
    
5. Completing all necessary administrative duties to ensure compliance (work records, student attendance, assessment marking, student results and other data entry)
    
6. Providing academic advice to students
    
7. Engaging and interacting with students in order to promote a friendly, fun and creative learning environment

REQUIREMENT

• a recognised degree or equivalent and
   
• a recognised TESOL qualification; or
   
• a recognised degree in education with TESOL method
   
• Working with Children’s Check
   
• Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral
   
• Be passionate about teaching
   
• Have a proven record in implementing and supporting flexible and innovative approaches to teaching and learning and the use of new technologies
   
• Willingness to participate in and contribute during professional development sessions
   
• Teaching: from 1 year (Preferred)
