Macelleria Moonee Ponds is a Modern Australian Restaurant. We specialise in high quality beef meat and known for our most desirable meat restaurant and a unique eating experience of uncompromising quality. Macelleria Moonee Ponds provides the ultimate dining experience with plenty of room to relax and enjoy our fully licensed venue with an extensive food and beverage menu.

Our restaurant currently is in need of a full time chef proven experience as a in a similar role excellent knowledge of culinary techniques and practices strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure Ability to work well in a team environment.

Suitable candidate will be offered a salary package of $70,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation.

We seek an applicant who:

· Has strong leadership and management skills with the ability to create a motivating environment

· Has experience or knowledge of Modern Australian cuisine.

· Experience cooking and managing a kitchen team.

· Has no issue with following directions from head chef

· Very good understanding of food health, safety and handling procedures

· Is an excellent multi-tasker with good initiative

· Possesses a demonstrable passion for food

· Has excellent inter-personal skills, maintaining a calm demeanor in high-pressure situations and uses these traits to perform well in a team

· Has experience in contributing to creating menus

Your responsibilities in the kitchen will include but not be limited to:

· Overseeing delivery of stock of food and equipment supplies and doing purchase orders

· Lead and inspire kitchen staff during service hours.

· Maintain consistently high culinary standards

· Ensuring freshness and quality in the ingredients and preparation of meals

· Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff

· Prepare and cook foods for dining and function service

· Implementing and enforcing hygiene regulations and examining equipment for cleanliness

· Food stocktaking procedures and waste management

· Uphold food safety standards and HACCP protocols

· Provide and record a program of basic training for all new members of staff and communicate performance and development issues on a regular basis

· Manage the team of kitchen staff during service
