Quality Control (QC) forms part of Financial Crime & Fraud Operations (FCFO) and is responsible for conducting quality reviews across the AML/CTF, sanctions, fraud, and scam operations environment.

A critical line of defence, the function protects the Bank and our customers from regulatory, reputational, and operational risks. We support consistent, high-quality, and defensible operational outcomes by reviewing processes to ensure compliance with established frameworks and standard operating processes, while driving continuous process improvement and operational alignment through strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

In particular you will be:

• Conducting operational process reviews across FCFO, ensuring reviews are completed in accordance with the bank’s financial crime framework, operational procedures and regulatory obligations
• Supporting the effective operations of the Bank’s Suspicious Matter Reporting (SMR) framework by conducting detailed investigations, and applying consistent determination practices.
• Supporting system enhancements, process improvements, and operational changes impacting Quality Control’s review activities.
• Working closely with the operational teams and stakeholders across the Bank to support the effective management of financial crime risk and drive continuous process improvement.

This is a permanent full-time position ideally located at one of our corporate head offices in Adelaide, Melbourne or Bendigo.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience within Financial Crime including AML/CTF regulations, sanctions requirements, fraud and scam operational practices, financial crime typologies and operational controls
• Experience conducting quality control activities, investigations, customer due diligence, fraud operations or other financial crime operational processes is advantageous.
• An understanding of Suspicious Matter Reporting (SMR) is ideal
• Strong analytical and assessment capabilities, including the ability to review operational decisions and identify quality concerns, control weaknesses and operational risks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with succinct report writing skills and ability to provide clear and accurate feedback
• Excellent interpersonal skills with strong conflict resolution skills
• Tertiary qualification in relevant field and / or Financial Crime Industry qualification i.e. ACAMs, AFCS preferred
