Personal Care Attendant

The Opportunity  Concierge Balwyn Retirement Living is a welcoming, low-maintenance community in one of Melbourne's leafiest suburbs, just 12km from the CBD and close to Maranoa Botanic Gardens, Box Hill Hospital and Westfield Doncaster. As a Personal Care Attendant, you will provide high-quality personal care, social support and daily assistance to residents within their Aveo home. Our Personal Care Attendants have a strong focus on wellbeing, promoting independence, building social connection and assisting with day-to-day tasks.     This is a casual role, helping our team on an ad-hoc basis with covering leave or when we need an extra pair of hands!    Your Impact    Work independently within resident units to provide in-home support including personal hygiene, medication, house cleaning, laundry and more!  Interact with residents within their homes or spend time out in the community completing daily activities (e.g driving them to appointments or light exercise)  Provide care, tailored to the resident's needs in line with their current care plans  Complete simple administration tasks, ensuring resident notes are up to date  Follow all Aveo OH&S policies and procedures and report any safety, security and resident incidents     What you'll bring    Experience as a Support Worker or a Home Care Worker, with a passion for community care, independence and wellbeing  Friendly, adaptable and proactive attitude, with a passion for being part of a community environment   Strong communication skills, with a genuine ability to build meaningful connections with residents  Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, Disability or Health Services Assistance (required)   Valid driver’s licence + vehicle (required)  Current First Aid & CPR certificate and two COVID-19 Vaccinations (required)     What we offer    $45.29/hr including casual loading + superannuation + relevant award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances   Sleepover accommodation, allowance and amenities provided (if you stay overnight)  Employee Referral Program and Employee Assistance Program  Discounts to Health Insurance and Retail & Leisure partner providers  Annual flu vaccinations and skin checks  The opportunity to build meaningful, lasting connections with residents and contribute to our retirement community  A supportive, community-focused environment that enables a more flexible and relationship-driven style of care    Who we are  As a leader in retirement living, with 30 years' experience, Aveo provides the stability and confidence to try new things and keep innovating.
