Barista/Alrounder

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Barista/Alrounder to join our team at SGHG Family PTY LTD in Loganholme, QLD. This is a full-time position where you will be at the heart of our hospitality operations, delivering exceptional customer service whilst preparing high-quality beverages and supporting the broader food and beverage service. As a Barista/Alrounder, you will play a crucial role in creating memorable experiences for our guests and maintaining the operational excellence that defines our establishment.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and serving a wide variety of espresso-based drinks, specialty coffee and other beverages to exacting standards

• Operating and maintaining coffee machines and other beverage equipment, ensuring all machinery is kept clean and in optimal working condition

• Taking customer orders accurately and efficiently, demonstrating extensive product knowledge and making recommendations

• Providing friendly, professional and attentive customer service to all guests, creating a welcoming atmosphere

• Supporting front-of-house and back-of-house operations as required, including food preparation, plating and serving

• Managing cash transactions and operating the point-of-sale system accurately

• Maintaining a clean, hygienic and organised work area in accordance with health and safety standards

• Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth service flow during peak times

• Restocking supplies and monitoring inventory levels for beverages and consumables

• Assisting with setup and breakdown of service areas as needed

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar hospitality role within the bar and beverage sector

• Demonstrated expertise in espresso machine operation and specialty coffee preparation

• Strong knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing methods and beverage trends

• Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for hospitality and guest interaction

• Ability to work efficiently during peak periods whilst maintaining quality and accuracy

• Flexibility to work across multiple areas of the business, including food and beverage support

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene

• Good communication and teamwork abilities, with a positive and professional attitude

• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and carry out manual tasks

• Current Food Safety Certificate or willingness to obtain one

• Preferred: RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification
