Mackay Regional Council is seeking a Development Engineer to support responsible growth across our region through the assessment of development and infrastructure-related matters. In this role, you will help deliver timely, consistent and high-quality development outcomes that support our community, industry and stakeholders.
As a Development Engineer, you will provide engineering advice and assessment services across a diverse range of development matters. Working under general direction, you will assess applications and requests of varying complexity, including Material Change of Use (MCU) and Reconfiguring a Lot (ROL) applications, operational works matters, survey plan compliance and other development-related requests. You will ensure assessments are undertaken efficiently, consistently and in accordance with relevant legislation, standards and Council requirements.
This position is ideal for a civil engineering professional looking to apply their technical expertise within a local government environment. You will exercise sound engineering judgement, engage with a broad range of stakeholders and contribute to the delivery of safe, compliant and sustainable infrastructure outcomes across the Mackay region.
You will be part of a team that plays a key role in shaping development outcomes and ensuring infrastructure planning and delivery supports Mackay's future growth.
You will be someone who enjoys technical assessment work, communicates clearly with customers and stakeholders,and can manage competing priorities while delivering practical, compliant engineering outcomes.
