Crest Engineering Australia are seeking applications for a self-motivated and high performing Electrical Engineer to join our small and agile team. This role will be itinerant, working for a range of reputable clients from Mining companies, to Container terminal operators and equipment OEM’s. Applicants should be driven to find improvement opportunities for clients, adding value into all aspects of their work. Tasks undertaken by successful candidates may encompass:
· Engineering Management document writing and review
· Electrical design and drawing review
· Automation projects and processes
· Safety management system document writing and review
· Equipment compliance auditing to Australian and International Standards
· Ongoing inspection and reporting of critical infrastructure including Container Cranes amongst other equipment
· Technological improvement projects and small works packages
· Equipment specification development
· Asset management projects and site support
· Budget estimates and project scoping
· Onsite engineering support and relief work, and Statutory Engineering coverage where the correct qualifications are possessed
· Develop, facilitate and review risk assessments
· Mobile and fixed equipment procurement scopes
It is expected that successful candidates will work in with mechanical engineers within the business and undertake multi-disciplinary roles from time to time as required. Applicants must be willing to undertake roles for multiple clients with a range of challenges simultaneously and will possess the following attributes:
· A mature work attitude
· Self-motivation with the ability to work autonomously as required
· Good interpersonal and communication skills
· Good document and report writing skills
· Willingness to travel regionally, interstate and overseas as demand requires
· Understanding of WHS legislation and Australian Standards relevant to heavy industry (and mining specific legislation)
· Current driver's license
· Able to pass drug and alcohol tests
· Able to pass a police check (to attain MSIC)
Minimum requirements for this position are:
· Diploma to Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering
· 5+ years in Electrical works which could include a combination of both Industrial Trade and Engineering experience
· 3+ years of mine site experience or Container terminal (Port) experience
· Project Management / Supervision experience
· Experience with development of project budgets and schedules
Any of the following specialised skills would be highly regarded:
· Practicing certificate – Electrical Engineer (Under WHS Mines and Petroleum Sites Regulation 2014)
· CPEng, NER and/or RPEQ
· Experience working with Asset management software
· Reliability investigations and management
· Defect management experience
· Site engineering, either underground or open-cut or fixed plant processing and heavy infrastructure
· Site Engineering expertise in Port Operations
· Risk assessment facilitation and development skills
