NABHA TRANSPORT PTY LTD Transport company operating a fleet of light and heavy commercial vehicles across Australia. To support its transport operations, the company also operates a fully equipped heavy vehicle workshop that undertakes the servicing, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of its own fleet. In addition, the workshop provides mechanical, electrical and diagnostic repair services to external commercial customers.
The business specialises in maintaining diesel engines, trucks, trailers and heavy vehicle mechanical systems, ensuring all vehicles are safe, reliable and compliant with manufacturer specifications and Australian workplace health and safety standards. Overtime Annual leave Sick leave Task & responsibilities Repair and maintain light & heavy diesel trucks, trailers, earth moving machinery and associated equipment.
Perform scheduled servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance to maximise vehicle reliability and minimise downtime. Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, suspension, fuel and hydraulic systems. Diagnose and rectify electrical and electronic faults using specialised diagnostic equipment and manufacturer software.
Repair, replace and install vehicle electrical components, including wiring harnesses, alternators, starter motors, batteries, lighting systems, sensors, ECUs and electronic control systems. Test and calibrate engine management, charging, ignition and electronic control systems to ensure optimal vehicle performance. Conduct fault finding on CAN bus systems, electrical circuits and onboard diagnostic (OBD) systems.
Perform welding, fabrication and component replacement where required as part of repair and maintenance activities. Complete repair reports, service records and job documentation accurately and within required time frames. Ensure all repairs comply with manufacturer specifications, Australian Design Rules (ADRs) and workplace quality standards.
Operate diagnostic tools, testing equipment and workshop machinery safely and efficiently. Maintain a clean and safe work environment while complying with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures. Liaise with workshop supervisors, parts personnel and other technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs and servicing.
Conduct final inspections and road tests (where authorised) to verify that vehicles are safe, reliable and fully operational before release to customers. Qualification & experience Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent qualification. Relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Diesel Motor Mechanic, with experience in both diesel and petrol vehicles preferred. Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy vehicle electrical and electronic systems is highly regarded. Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
