About the role
We are seeking a capable and customer-focused IT Support Officer to join our Information Technology team. This full-time position provides technical support and assistance to staff, students and parents while supporting the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the School’s IT systems and digital technologies.
The successful applicant will work across a broad range of technologies including operating systems, networking, cloud-based platforms and educational technology systems. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication and a commitment to supporting technology users in a Christian educational environment.
William Carey Christian School (WCCS) is a Prep – Year 12 school of approximately 1,400 students, located at Prestons, nine kilometres south-west of Liverpool. The School celebrated its 40th year in 2024 and has a strong and respected reputation within the local community.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:
A person of evangelical Christian convictions and character, actively involved in a Bible-based Christian church and committed to the work of Christian education.
Affirm and uphold the School’s Statement of Faith and committed to working a biblical worldview into all aspects of School role.
A current and valid paid Working with Children Check clearance prior to commencement of employment, with ongoing maintenance of this clearance throughout employment.
Relevant qualifications in Information Technology or a related field, and/or equivalent industry experience.
An understanding of various operating systems (Windows Server / Workstation, Linux).
Familiarity with hardware components (e.g., computers, printers, networking equipment).
Knowledgeable in common software applications and productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g., Wi-Fi setup, DNS, IP addresses).
Experience with cloud-based educational platforms and systems (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft 365).
Familiarity with data migration tools and processes in educational environments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating technical issues into simple terms for non-technical users, including staff, students and other users.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach.
Strong team collaboration skills, contributing to a positive and cohesive work environment.
Physically capable of handling the demands of the role, including moving computer hardware, installing screens, projectors, wireless access points, and security cameras, as well as working at heights and using ladders for installations and maintenance.
