About Us?
The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
The Regional and Specialist team includes Integrated Specialist Services, Mental Health and Wellbeing Services, Primary Healthcare Services, Birthing and Early Childhood Services (South), and Child and Youth Services. Our purpose is to connect, guide, and empower teams and communities through culturally safe, transparent, and responsive ways.
About the Role?
The Gambling Support Counsellor provides culturally responsive, trauma-informed and person-centred counselling, assessment, referral and casework support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and communities impacted by gambling harm.
The role delivers Gambling Support Services across IUIH Member Services, supporting individuals and affected others experiencing social, emotional, financial and wellbeing impacts associated with gambling harm. The position works collaboratively with internal multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to ensure service users can access holistic and culturally appropriate supports.
