Allied Health Practitioner - Townsville

About the Position

We are excited to welcome a part-time Allied Health Practitioner (Psychologist or Speech and Language Pathologist) to our Specialist Disability Support in Schools (SDSS) team in Townsville. In this rewarding role, you'll work alongside students, families, educators and a multidisciplinary team to help children and young people access, participate and thrive in their educational journey. Through collaboration, consultation and therapeutic support, you'll play a meaningful role in helping students achieve their full potential.

• Level 6 SCHCADS Award.
• Salary range: $115,340 - $120,441 (pro-rata) + Superannuation.
• Part-time [0.8FTE], Government funded contract opportunity until 31 December 2026 with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support student success by delivering evidence-informed allied health interventions that enhance participation, engagement and educational outcomes.
• Collaborate with school communities by providing consultations, guidance and practical strategies to educators and key stakeholders.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop tailored supports and solutions that meet the unique needs of students.
• Build strong partnerships with families, schools and community services to create positive, lasting outcomes for children and young people.

About You

• Tertiary degree in Psychology or Speech Pathology.
• Current registration with the relevant Registration Board, where applicable.
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience working with children, young people and their families or at least two (2) years’ experience working in similar roles.
• Eligibility to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required), including holding or obtaining required checks (Working with Children Check or professional exemption).
• Current driver’s licence.
