As our electrical division continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator / Project Manager to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of work from smaller electrical upgrades through to major projects valued up to $2 million.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants more than simply pricing jobs or administering projects. You will be involved from the initial opportunity through estimating, client engagement, planning and delivery, with genuine autonomy and the opportunity to grow into a senior leadership position within the business.

The Role

Our work is generated largely through long-standing relationships with existing commercial clients, giving you exposure to a broad and consistent pipeline of projects.

Typical works include:

• Emergency and exit lighting upgrades and rectification works

• General and architectural lighting upgrades

• Switchboard replacements and major upgrades

• Commercial electrical fit-outs

• Power and distribution upgrades

• Electrical works identified through preventative maintenance programs

• Reactive and urgent electrical rectification works

• Minor works and refurbishment projects

• Larger electrical projects valued up to $2M

No two weeks are the same.

You could be pricing a lighting upgrade for an existing client one day, planning a major switchboard replacement the next, and managing the delivery of a substantial commercial project after that.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will take ownership of your work from opportunity through to completion, including:

• Conducting site inspections and assessing project requirements

• Preparing accurate and commercially sound estimates and quotations

• Reviewing drawings, specifications and scopes of work

• Preparing labour, material and subcontractor costings

• Obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor pricing

• Preparing tender submissions and client proposals

• Developing project budgets and delivery plans

• Coordinating electricians, subcontractors and suppliers

• Managing procurement and programming

• Maintaining strong communication with clients throughout delivery

• Managing variations and additional works

• Monitoring project costs, margins and performance

• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities

• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, professionally and on time

• Managing handover and project close-out

About You

We are looking for an experienced electrical professional who is commercially sharp, organised and comfortable taking ownership.

You will ideally have:

• Proven electrical estimating and/or project management experience

• Strong commercial electrical industry experience

• Experience estimating and delivering a variety of electrical projects

• Strong understanding of labour, materials and subcontractor costs

• Ability to read electrical drawings, specifications and tender documentation

• Strong understanding of project budgets, margins and commercial risk

• Experience managing variations and additional works

• Strong organisation and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Confidence dealing directly with clients, suppliers and subcontractors

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

• A proactive, solutions-focused approach

• Experience using Simpro is highly regarded
