HV Technicians – Shut Down

The Position

We are seeking highly skilled HV Technicians to join a project team to plan and execute HV/LV shutdown activities, including isolation, maintenance, testing, and inspection of critical plant equipment. Carry out insulation resistance testing, electrical diagnostics, and condition assessments on switchboards, transformers, and associated power system assets.

FIFO from all major capital cities

Experience Required

Substation Commissioning, including Site Acceptance Testing Commissioning GIS Switchgear VLF, Tan Delta, partial discharge testing of HV Cables Experience with HV motors and drivesTesting Primary electrical equipment, including circuit breakers, CTs, VTs, HV/LV switchboards, transformers, and HV busbars.Relay Testing and Secondary injection Testing over a wide range of relay manufacturers/models. Preferable, not essential.

Qualifications

WA A Grade Electrical license (Mandatory) High Voltage Switching certificate – Not essentialBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or an Advanced Diploma of Engineering (Advantageous) Working at Heights, or willingness to obtainCurrent CPR/ LVR and First Aid certificate Valid Driver’s License (Minimum C Class) Proven experience with Omicron Test unitsWhite Card (Construction Card)Ability to provide at least two contactable work-related referencesPass a pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol TestPrevious FIFO experience
