Junior Project Manager – Renewable Energy

DS Energy is looking for an ambitious Junior Project Manager to join our growing Brisbane team and help deliver commercial and industrial renewable energy projects across Australia and the Pacific.

We design, engineer and deliver solar, battery and electrical solutions for commercial and industrial clients, managing projects from initial feasibility and design through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.

With more than four decades of combined solar, electrical and project delivery experience, our team is delivering an expanding portfolio of renewable energy projects and we are looking for the next generation of project leaders to grow with us.

This is a hands-on role for an early-career engineer or project professional who wants to build a career in the rapidly expanding renewable energy industry.

Working directly with experienced project managers, engineers and construction teams, you will help deliver commercial solar, battery and electrical projects ranging from approximately 30kW to 1MW.

You won't be sitting on the sidelines. You will gain exposure to the entire project lifecycle — engineering, procurement, commercial management, construction, commissioning and client handover — while progressively taking greater responsibility for your own projects.

• Assist with the planning and delivery of commercial solar, battery and electrical projects.

• Coordinate clients, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors and installation teams.

• Support solar and electrical system design, technical reviews and constructability assessments.

• Manage project drawings, specifications, documentation and approvals.

• Assist with grid connection applications and electricity network liaison.

• Coordinate procurement, equipment schedules, suppliers and material delivery.

• Support project programming, scheduling and progress reporting.

• Monitor budgets, costs, variations and project commercial performance.

• Attend project sites and assist with safe, efficient and well-organised construction delivery.

• Support testing, commissioning, handover and project close-out.

• Ensure projects meet relevant Australian Standards, industry requirements and DS Energy quality systems.

• Help us continually improve the way we engineer and deliver projects.

We're looking for someone who is technically capable, organised, commercially aware and keen to learn.

Ideally, you will have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering — Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or a related discipline.

• Around 1–3 years' experience in engineering, construction, electrical, solar, renewable energy or project delivery.

• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

• The ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation.

• Confidence working with clients, engineers, tradespeople, suppliers and subcontractors.

• A practical mindset and willingness to spend time onsite with project delivery teams.

• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to getting things done.

• Competency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and Project.

• A current Australian driver's licence.

Experience with commercial solar, AutoCAD, PV design software, grid connection applications or project management systems will be highly regarded, but isn't essential. If you have strong transferable engineering or construction experience, we want to hear from you.

The role is based at our Northgate office in Brisbane, with regular travel to project sites depending on project requirements.
